The 2nd Polish-German Call for Proposals for Joint Research and Development Projects invites Polish and German partners to submit proposals for innovative R&D projects aimed at developing new products, services, or processes. Joint proposals are encouraged across all technology and application areas, with the aim of creating sustainable, market-ready solutions. This initiative is supported by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) in Poland and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) through their respective funding schemes: INNOGLOBO (Poland) and ZIM (Germany).
Eligible participants must include at least one Polish company or research organization and one German SME. Additional partners from other countries can participate but are not eligible for funding from NCBR or ZIM. The project should demonstrate balanced contributions from both countries, with no partner contributing more than 70% of the total work. The project duration should be between 24 to 36 months.
Applications must be submitted by 30 September 2024, with results announced by 30 April 2025. Applicants are required to submit a joint proposal in English, along with a draft consortium agreement outlining cooperation details, intellectual property rights, and commercialization plans. Polish applicants must submit their national funding applications via the ePUAP platform or email, while German applicants should follow ZIM guidelines.

Expected Outcome
The expected outcome of the project is the development of innovative products, processes, or technical services that are based on cutting-edge technologies and have high commercial potential. These solutions should be market-ready, capable of generating sustainable benefits, and suitable for commercialization in both domestic and global markets. The collaboration between Polish and German partners is expected to result in a differentiated value proposition, with a clear competitive advantage emerging from the joint efforts. Additionally, the project should contribute to advancing technological innovation and economic growth in both countries.
Scope
The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) intend to support joint Polish-German research and development projects (R&D projects) in order to develop innovative products, processes or technical services from all technology and application areas. Funding will be available for R&D projects in which new products, technical services or processes will in subsequent steps generate sustainable solutions with high market potential.
In Poland, funding is provided through the INNOGLOBO programme. In Germany, funding is provided through the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM). NCBR, INNOGLOBO programme management agency and AiF Project GmbH, ZIM project management agency on behalf of the BMWK, support the applicants in the phase of submission of project proposals, in the evaluation and in the implementation phase.
NCBR and AiF Project GmbH will evaluate the submitted proposals according to the national regulations and communicate the results not later than 30 April 2025.
