Expected Outcome
The 7th German-Taiwanese Call for Proposals for Joint R&D Projects, announced by the German Institute in Taipei and the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, aims to foster innovation through collaborative research and development (R&D) between German and Taiwanese entities. The call is open to applicants from all technological and application areas, with a focus on developing market-ready solutions for products, technology-based services, or methods with significant market potential. The deadline for submission is 30th September 2024, with projects evaluated on a rolling basis and results communicated within approximately five months.
Joint R&D projects must involve at least one German and one Taiwanese company, with opportunities for additional research organizations or companies to participate. Projects are expected to contribute to innovative products, processes, or services that align with international standards. Participants from both countries will receive public funding through their respective national programs: the AIIP (A+ Industrial Innovative R&D Program) in Taiwan and ZIM (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs) in Germany. The projects should demonstrate a balanced and equitable contribution from all partners, with no single partner exceeding 70% of the project work or costs.
To apply, participants must submit a common proposal in English, along with a draft consortium agreement, detailing the project’s structure, contributions, and intellectual property arrangements. Proposals must meet the national funding requirements of both Taiwan and Germany, with applications submitted through the respective channels. For detailed guidance and support, applicants are encouraged to consult with the designated coordinators in both countries early in the process.
