IraSME Call: Luxembourg

Description

The 36th IraSME Call supports international cooperative research and development projects conducted by SMEs and Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs). It fosters transnational cooperation to strengthen the competitive capacity of SMEs by encouraging innovation and reducing economic risk in the development of new products, processes, or technical services.

Scope

  • Projects must involve SMEs from at least two participating countries

  • Luxembourg partners must be private enterprises registered in Luxembourg, demonstrating financial soundness and viability, plus positive economic impact and innovation potential

  • Projects must aim to develop new or significantly improved products/processes/services, with defined technical risk and market potential

Funding Amount

  • Aid in the form of a subsidy
  • Eligible costs: personnel, work tools, equipment, subcontracts
  • Maximum subsidy rates (for experimental development):
    • Small enterprises - 60%
    • Medium-sized enterprises - 50%
    • Large enterprises - 40%

Important Dates

  • Call opening: 2 June 2025

  • Deadline for nonbinding feedback: 13 August 2025

  • Final submission deadline: 24 September 2025

  • Funding decision: Expected late January 2026

Eligible Applicants

  • Private enterprises only, registered in Luxembourg (SMEs, large companies) .

  • SMEs are mandatory, at least one per project.

  • RTOs/universities cannot receive Luxembourg funding, but can participate.

  • Large companies also eligible for funding, at lower rates

  • Partners from other countries may join but must self‑finance their portion.

Expected Outcome

  • Development of innovative and market-oriented solutions.

  • Strengthened international cooperation between SMEs and possibly RTOs.

  • Increased commercialization potential of developed technologies or services.

  • Economic and technological growth for the participating SMEs.
