ISOS Pilot Mission – Coordination and Support

This call aims to support the development of capabilities to ‘Act in Space’ through the demonstration of a pilot mission, EU ISOS>I, by 2030, related to In-Space Operations and Services (ISOS). It seeks to foster the EU's strategic autonomy in space, enhance the resilience of its space assets, and enable the growth of a competitive in-space economy. Key actions include the detailed design and coordination of mission components, promotion of standardization efforts, and elaboration of a governance and funding framework for the pilot mission. Participation is restricted to entities from EU Member States and associated countries, with specific provisions to safeguard the Union's strategic interests.

Expected Outcome

• Creation of a transparent and scalable EU ISOS ecosystem.
• Development of a detailed ISOS Pilot Mission architecture.

Scope

• Coordination of the ISOS pilot mission preparation up to detailed design.
• Ensuring compatibility between mission components.
• Dissemination and communication activities on the EU ISOS>I pilot mission.
• Elaboration of a product tree for in-space services.
• Community consultation for ecosystem plug-in specifications.
• Preparation of proposals for implementation, deployment, and funding schemes.
