Migration and climate change: building resilience and enhancing sustainability.

This call aims to develop a comprehensive framework to understand the impacts of climate change on migration. It seeks to create a dynamic exchange platform for EU and national authorities, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to integrate climate change considerations into migration policies. The initiative encourages interdisciplinary approaches to address the complex relationship between environmental disasters and migration, focusing on vulnerabilities such as internal displacements and the exacerbation of preexisting inequalities. Collaboration with the Joint Research Centre's Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography is emphasized to ensure sustainability beyond the project's lifespan. The project also aims to produce actionable policy recommendations to enhance the EU's preparedness and cooperation with third countries regarding climate-induced migration.
