In a rapidly growing market, WaveImplant is developing OsteoWave, an innovative and patented ultrasound medical device for which the preclinical validation has been obtained. The objective of OsteoWave is to provide dental surgeons with a decision support system in order to conduct and manage optimal surgical procedures in dental implantology.

Current stage description

First sales will occur in 2025. WaveImplant will market this medical device in France directly, by setting up a small appropriate sales force. In France, we will initially target key dental implantology centers (B2C). In parallel, we will position OsteoWave abroad, under license agreements with one or more heavyweights of the dental implantology sector.

Scalability

Only OsteoWave allows an access to the biomechanical properties and features of the bone-implant interface that drive surgical success or failure. Due to the very random performance of Osstell device, the most widely used clinical method remains the dental surgeon proprioception. OsteoWave will thus make it possible to guide the surgeon as to the decision to proceed with immediate loading and to detect early signs of periimplantitis.

Beyond the empirical approach used by most experienced dentists and other miscellaneous unsatisfactory techniques, the only real competitor of OsteoWave is the Osstell device and is now marketed by W&H, one of the world leading suppliers of dental equipment. Osstell technology offers much less reproducibility, sensitivity and reliability than OsteoWave.
