EARLY DECISION SUPPORT TOOL

Result description

A web-based tool that proposes and assesses tailor-made renovation ‘solution kits’ based on the available information of an existing building (which is often limited). A number of renovation scenarios (suited to the particular building) are automatically generated, and then assessed in terms of their energy performance, thermal comfort achieved, and the environmental and economic performance over the whole life cycle (including an estimation of budget for each scenario). Results are ranked and presented according to the preferences of the user.

We specifically need / are looking for

We are looking to build a more scalable business models in order to license our software. In this regard we would need feedback from potential investors or business partners to develop a market study. Our aim is to transfer the IPR or the software tool to a third party that would exploit the product.

Current stage description

A functional version of the tool has been developed.

There are steps pending (e.g. polishing user interface) to get the product ready for system launch and market deployment.

Scalability

Once the tool is ready for market, being a software product, we would be able to cope with increased demand. We have the ability to adapt the software tool to the needs of a particular customer, but in the event of a very high demand this functionality would be limited.
