Key facts:

  • InProTher is shifting the paradigm in cancer immunotherapy by targeting the human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) to treat cancer.
  • HERVS are well recognized as tumor specific antigens, but they have been undruggable until now.
  • We have been able to induce potent immune responses against HERVs (both humoral and T-cell), that supress tumors in multiple tumor models, as single agent or in combination with antiPD1
  • We deliver our immunogen as cancer vaccines by using Adenoviral and RNA vectors.
  • Our potential indications include pancreatic, ovarian, breast and prostate cancer, and other cancers that express HERV.
  • Possibility to extend the platform to other HERVs

Current stage description

Where are we today and what do we plan to do:

  • We have defined our lead candidate: the HERVK-ISDmut immunogen delivered in Adeno19 + Adeno5F35 + mRNA vectors
  • We have planned the FIH first indication and cohort expansion program
  • GMP, Regulatory processes are ongoing in Europe
  • We plan to start FIH in Q1 2024 (12-16 months from now)
  • EIC Accelerator financing granted (2.5M grant + 6.6 M Equity investment) (EIC = equivalent to SBIR in Europe)
  • Initial team in place (CSO, CMO, CFO, CEO)

Scalability
  • Our potential indications include pancreatic, ovarian, breast and prostate cancer, and other cancers that express HERV.
  • Possibility to extend the platform to other HERVs

Replicability

We are making a Master Cell Bank from which our drug product COGS will be around 200 EUR pr drug (vial); this can be scaled hence reducing the COGS further. Furthermore our target is widely expressed in all human, making this product an off the shelves (especially in relation to our competitors using Neoantigens where each vaccine is tailormade to each individual patient).
