Result description

This result is a BIM assisted energy-refurbishment assessment tool, for bridging the gap between commercial simulators and the BIM management system. It aims to develop a solution capable of bridging commercial simulator features with that of the BIM management platform. This will enable a decision support software component with national renovation measure databases compiling and running the renovation scenarios fitted to the building to be refurbished.

We specifically need / are looking for

TRL 6 is aimed during the project. In order to maximize solution impacts and exploitation potential beyond the scope of the project, potential interested investors and business partners could be of interest as well as business planning activities in order to recognize the commercial potential of the solutions and establish the IP valuation.

Current stage description

Demonstration of the solution in the project pilots. Further development post demonstration for reaching higher TRLs will be necessary.

The solution brings about value beyond the consortium boundaries with potential increased renovation rates and tools for SMEs in the construction sector.

Value Proposition:

The specific barriers and customer needs that can be mitigated by this KER are mainly found in the form of shortened intervention times due to more automated and digitally assisted design and calibration of systems as well as mitigated uncertainties in energy savings and payback periods and ROIs due to the bridging of commercial simulators and BIM models. From a value proposition perspective, the two most likely routes are that of licensing the software, improving current BIM-based products and services or using the KER for consulting and training purposes in the AEC sector for renovation projects.
