Geothermal heat pump demonstration system which includes four borehole heat exchangers (single-U, double-U, coaxial and helicoidal) and one pair of production-reinjection wells supplying a water source heat pump of very high energy efficiency, which provides heating and cooling to the bioclimatic office building of CRES. The system is equipped with measuring and data logging equipment for online real time monitoring.
The following new technologies developed by the Cheap-GSHPs consortium, have been tested on site: Innovative drilling rig and equipment; 304L Stainless Steel Coaxial BHE with foam insulated inner PEX pipe and piling method; 15 m deep PEX-AL-PE Helicoidal BHE and installation method.
