Result description
The RuralSpot is an extension of the RuralBioUp project. It supports innovators, policymakers, and local businesses by providing information on the bioeconomy in regional, national, and European contexts. RuralSpot gathers bioeconomy information across six categories: Biomass, Soil, Knowledge, Financial support, Technologies, and BM & market applications. This integration of diverse topics across multiple geographical scales for a specific target audience is its key differentiator. Since it will remain accessible up to 2030, it will be used to support and foster the bioeconomy ecosystem by providing valuable, centralised information to key stakeholders while encouraging similar projects and stakeholders to replicate the result in further European Union policies or geographic contexts.
This long-term publicly accessible information platform and knowledge hub is an extension of the RuralBioUp project, and supports innovators, policymakers and local businesses by providing information on bioeconomy in a regional, national and European context. The unique selling point of the RuralSpot platform is its function as a multi-level, centralized information tool for the bioeconomy which integrate diverse topics across multiple geographical scales for a specific target audience. The hub is already up and running, offering several bio-based resources. The Consortium is committed to continuously enriching the hub with additional data, ensuring its relevance and added value also beyond the project’s duration.
The Rural Spot platform is designed for high replicability, as its modular and multi-level structure and open-access resources can be easily adapted to different regional contexts as well as further European Union policies. By providing transferable knowledge and best practices, it enables other territories to replicate successful bioeconomy and sustainable initiatives, fostering wider adoption and supporting the scaling-up of rural development strategies across Europe
The structure of the platform can be replicated for further topics associated to the European Union policies.
The result will remain open until 2030, with the commitment of the RuralBioUp Consortium to continuously enrich it with up-to-date resources, ensuring that other territories can replicate successful bioeconomy initiatives and scale up rural development strategies across Europe.
