37th IraSME Call for Proposals: Czech Republic

Description

The IraSME call is a transnational funding initiative supporting joint international research and development projects between SMEs and (optionally) research organisations, with partners funded through their respective national programmes. Czech participants are funded via the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) within this coordinated framework. The programme’s objective is to strengthen SME innovation capacity and international cooperation leading to competitive technological advances and commercialisation.

Funding Amount

  • Maximum funding amount: up to 50 million CZK per consortium (Czech contribution).

Submission Deadlines

  • Call open: 1 December 2025
  • Final submission deadline: 25 March 2026.
  • Please note that applications for German-Czech IraSME projects are accepted throughout the whole year 2026, even after the official call deadline.

Submission Conditions

  • Applications must be submitted both internationally (joint IraSME application) and to the relevant national funding body.
  • Each partner files a separate national funding request under its domestic rules.
  • Projects must involve at least one Czech SME and one foreign SME partner.
  • Project work funded in the Czech Republic must be carried out outside Prague.

Eligible Types of Businesses / Organisations

Eligible applicants include:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) (core target group).
  • Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) or research institutions (optional participants).

All SMEs in the consortium must participate in exploiting project results.

Eligible Countries (Consortium Composition)

Participating countries/regions include:

  • Brazil
  • Germany
  • Czech Republic
  • Luxembourg
  • Türkiye
  • Belgium (Flanders and Wallonia)

Partners from non-participating countries may join but must self-finance their participation.

Expected Outcome

Projects are expected to deliver:

  • Market-oriented or near-market innovations with clear commercial potential.
  • Measurable benefits arising specifically from cross-border collaboration.
  • New innovative products, services, or more efficient processes resulting from the joint R&D effort.

Scope

Supported projects must involve joint international R&D cooperation delivering technological innovation. Eligible activities include:

  • Industrial research and experimental development.
  • Development of new or significantly improved products, processes or technical services beyond the international state of the art.
  • Technical and experimental work up to prototype stage, involving significant technical risk.
  • R&D carried out in cooperation with at least one foreign partner.
  • The call is bottom-up (no predefined thematic priorities); topics are defined by applicants.
