Highlights from our Fraunhofer IAP Webinar
On 27 January, KETMarket hosted a webinar on “Functional Integration in Polymers — from Material Design to Application-Ready Components”, featuring expert contributions from Fraunhofer IAP in Potsdam-Golm.
The session provided in-depth insights into how advanced polymer technologies are being translated from material development into industrial applications. Topics included:
- Polymer-integrated electronics and optics, including the use of quantum dots (QD) and printable quantum dot inks for advanced functional materials and device integration
- Piezoelectric and ferroelectric polymers as enabling technologies for energy harvesting systems and specialized sensor applications
- Polymer-based energy storage solutions, electrolytes, and battery components, featuring PFAS-free membranes developed in response to recent EU regulatory requirements
- Industrial implementation of shape memory polymers, enabled by additive manufacturing processes, including advanced 3D and 4D printing techniques for application-oriented components
We would like to sincerely thank our speakers Dr. Manuel Gensler, Dr. Benjamin Heyne, Dr. Michael Wegener and Dr. Thorsten Prestch for their deep technical insights, and all attendees for contributing to a lively and engaging discussion.
