We develop functional surfaces for a wide range of applications. For this purpose, we use large-area coating processes.
We develop solutions based on sputtering technology for the fields of photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, buildings, thin-film batteries, and hydrogen technology. Applications include, for example, transparent electrodes and colored cover glasses (MorphoColor®) for photovoltaics; low-emissivity and solar control coatings; optically switchable systems; bird-protection glass and radio-transparent insulating glass; as well as vacuum insulating glazing for energy-efficient buildings. They also include protective coatings for fuel cells and electrolyzers, and absorber and mirror coatings used in solar thermal applications and concentrating solar thermal power plants. Our coatings increase the energy efficiency of buildings, replace expensive materials, improve efficiency, extend service life, and make the use of photovoltaics on façades more attractive.
