The BIT targets bio-based industries, certifiers, and policy-makers. It supports sustainability evaluation, traceability, and certification by offering a digital, interoperable tool aligned with EU Green Deal goals. For industries, it enables performance improvement and visibility; for certifiers, it streamlines verification; and for authorities, it offers data-driven insights. The goal is to foster adoption of circularity standards across the bioeconomy with a user-friendly, modular platform.

We are now seeking targeted funding to move from TRL 7 to TRL 9, focusing on:

• Industrial-scale piloting in real supply chains (TRL 8)

• Full deployment and validation with certifiers and public authorities (TRL 9)

• Commercialisation roadmap (market entry in SaaS/licensing or hybrid models)

• Compliance adaptation (DPP, CSRD, ESG)

The BIT is highly replicable across sectors and regions due to its modular design, open-source tech, and standardised NGSI-LD data models. It supports diverse users and supply chains, enabling easy integration into other EU projects, regional bioeconomy strategies, and industry certification systems aligned with EU Green Deal and circularity policies.

The BIT enhances sustainability by enabling data-driven decisions in bio-based value chains. It integrates environmental and circularity indicators, supports compliance with EU sustainability goals (e.g., EU Green Deal, Circular Economy Action Plan), and promotes resource efficiency and traceability. By identifying best practices and low-impact actors, it fosters greener, more transparent supply chains.
