Noivion is a Czech–Italian deep-tech company offering thin-film coating as a service and custom coating and materials R&D based on its patented Ionized Jet Deposition (IJD) technology.
IJD principle: A pulsed, highly energetic plasma deposits films from 10 nm to 50 µm from small targets onto large objects – conductive, insulating, transparent, even ultra-hard or high-melting materials – at low temperature (~120 °C, down to room temperature) while preserving target stoichiometry.
This lets us coat substrates that conventional PVD (sputtering, arc evaporation) physically cannot handle – polymers, composites, glass and other heat-sensitive parts – and to deposit complex, multi-element compounds (including superconductors and multi-component oxides) that normally require multiple sources.
We do not just sell machine time – we run the full development loop and hand back a qualified, transferable coating recipe plus an ongoing contract-coating service.
We also offer Pulsed Ion Implantation (PII), which drives O/N/C ions into metal surfaces to create up to ~10 µm of oxide/nitride/carbide compound with the base material in order to raise hardness, wear and corrosion resistance with no added layer to peel off.
Bring us a surface challenge – we co-develop the material, process and recipe, validate it with our academic partner labs, and scale it to small-series or pilot production.
What we offer
• Coating as a Service – IJD job contract coating on your parts (rapid proof-of-concept and recurring small/mid-series production).
• Custom thin-film R&D – feasibility, material selection, recipe and process development for customer-specific materials and applications, ending in a qualified, transferable recipe.
• Sample & demonstrator coatings – thin-film deposition of customer-supplied or co-developed material systems for evaluation and characterization.
• Pulsed Ion Implantation (PII) – surface hardening and wear/corrosion protection of metal tools and components.
• R&D partnering for funded projects – we join EU / national funded consortia as a thin-film technology and coating partner (IJD process development, sample fabrication, characterization).
How we work (development as a service)
1. Feasibility & material selection – define target film, substrate and functional goals.
2. Recipe & process development – explore the IJD / PII parameter space (acceleration voltage, gas pressure, target–sample distance, pulse repetition rate).
3. Validation & characterization – film properties verified together with partner labs.
4. Pilot & contract coating – small-series production and a clear scale-up path.
