Result description
Our result is a breakthrough in sustainable construction, combining 3D-printed hempcrete panels with a patented manufacturing process to deliver carbon-negative building solutions. Hempcrete, a renewable bio-based material, reduces the carbon footprint by absorbing more CO₂ than it emits, while precision 3D printing ensures efficient material use, minimal waste, and durable, lightweight components.
This innovative process incorporates reusable clay moulds and aligns with circular economy principles, making it scalable and adaptable for residential and commercial applications. Pilot projects have validated its ability to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 35%, streamline construction timelines, and improve efficiency.
Our result directly supports the EU’s sustainability and innovation goals, offering a practical solution to challenges in the construction sector, such as high emissions and material inefficiency. We are seeking funding and collaborations to scale this solution across Europe and drive the transition to greener, more efficient building practices.

R&D, Technology and Innovation aspects
Ekotekt, at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6, has developed its 3D-printed hempcrete panels, which have been tested in pilot projects, demonstrating their viability for carbon-negative construction. We are currently in several negotiations to bring these solutions to market and are seeking funding from private investors and public or private institutions to scale production and optimise materials. We are also looking to collaborate with construction companies and architects to expand implementation through additional pilot projects, ensuring market readiness and driving sustainable construction practices.
Ekotekt is combining the sale of 3D printing systems to local manufacturers with transaction fees from sustainable design access on our platform. Our adaptable process supports both factory and on-site production, enabling decentralised, cost-effective scaling globally to meet the growing demand for sustainable construction.
Our 3D-printed hempcrete panels and patented processes can be consistently produced using licensed 3D printing technology, ensuring uniform standards across locations. By leveraging renewable materials and a global design marketplace, we deliver reliable, scalable, and sustainable construction solutions to diverse markets.
Ekotekt adds value by delivering carbon-negative construction solutions that reduce CO₂ emissions and waste, benefiting the environment and society. Using renewable materials like hemp and scalable licensing for 3D printing technology ensures resource efficiency and widespread adoption. Our design marketplace fosters collaboration while generating economic value, supporting a circular economy and sustainable development goals.
