The GenAI4EU in Robotics and Industrial Automation call aims to advance the integration of generative AI (GenAI) technologies into robotics and industrial automation sectors, focusing on enhancing productivity, autonomy, and sustainability. The call supports two types of projects:
- Type A) GenAI for Robotics: This strand seeks to develop advanced AI foundation models tailored for robotics, emphasizing enhanced adaptability, autonomy, and real-time interaction with physical environments. Proposals should validate these models through industrial automation use cases, focusing on training methodologies, multimodal data processing, and ensuring robust safety standards.
- Type B) GenAI for Manufacturing: This strand targets leveraging GenAI to address critical challenges in manufacturing, such as automation of production processes, improved compliance, and efficient reconfiguration of production facilities. Proposals should demonstrate the integration of AI-driven solutions to enable high-mix production and accelerate innovation cycles while addressing environmental and sustainability goals.
The call emphasizes fostering trust and reliability in GenAI applications, aligning with European regulatory standards like the AI Act. Proposals must allocate substantial funding (minimum 10.000.000 €) to financial support for third parties (FSTP) to develop and fine-tune industry-specific applications.
Collaboration with industry leaders, data-sharing frameworks, and synergies with existing EU initiatives are essential. Proposals should also address the use of high-performance computing resources and incorporate strategies for interoperability and standardization. The outcomes aim to solidify Europe’s leadership in AI and robotics while empowering its industrial sectors to achieve transformative efficiency and innovation.
Opening: 10 Jun 2025
Deadline(s): 13 Nov 2025
