This call aims to develop and demonstrate new inverter technologies with increased power density, reliability, and lower cost for photovoltaic (PV) systems. Recognizing the need for advanced power electronics to integrate renewable and distributed energy resources into the electric distribution system, projects should focus on designing smart inverter technologies, developing robust control algorithms, and ensuring interoperability and cybersecurity. Proposals should demonstrate integrated communication between inverters and other components, support the creation of Digital Twins and PV data models, and evaluate system integration and future developments in hardware and software.
This initiative implements the co-programmed European Partnership for Innovation in Photovoltaics (EUPI-PV) and supports the execution of the solar energy joint research and innovation agenda.
Opening Date: 06 May 2025
Deadline: 16 September 2025
