The EIC Pre-accelerator - Widening call aims to enhance the innovation potential of early-stage deep-tech startups in Horizon Europe Widening countries. This initiative supports startups with high-impact innovations based on cutting-edge scientific advances, helping them develop their technology readiness levels and prepare for market entry. The call addresses the challenges these startups face in attracting financing due to high technology and investment risks. By providing grants and access to the European Innovation Council (EIC) Business Acceleration Services, the program seeks to increase the business, investor, and technology readiness levels of these startups.
Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from EUR 300.000 to EUR 500.000 at a 70% funding rate for a period of up to two years. The funding must be used to advance the technology readiness level (TRL) of the innovation from at least TRL 4 to TRL 5 or 6 and to address investor and market readiness. Beneficiaries will have access to coaching, tailored events, and the EIC Accelerator Fast Track, enhancing their ability to attract private investments, secure EIC Accelerator funding, or obtain national or regional funding.
At the end of the project, beneficiaries must demonstrate that their technology has been tested and validated in a relevant environment and that they are ready to apply for further funding or enter into agreements for market deployment.
