Terberg has developed a Drive-By-Wire system, abbreviated as DBW.
The DBW layer provides automated control over various functions, including steering, braking, gear acceleration, fifth wheel control, and vehicle features such as lights (indicators, headlights, fog lights) and horn. Additionally, it includes provisions for emergency brake control, which can be activated by an external system in case of emergencies. The system also allows for seamless switching between manual and automatic modes, with buttons conveniently located on the vehicle, along with visual (flash) lights and auditory cues (beepers/buzzers).
During vehicle production, additional equipment can be incorporated as needed. This may include both standard components and components sourced from other automation kit suppliers. Standard components encompass communication elements for Wi-Fi, LTE, G4, G5, or equivalent technologies. These interfaces facilitate data communication between the vehicle and off-board systems, whether located on-site or off-site.
The DBW interface utilizes a CAN bus connector for efficient communication and integration.
