UrbanizeHub’s “Bring Nature Home” handbook, part of the EIT Community New European Bauhaus initiative, showcases efforts to rejuvenate Iasi’s Alexandru cel Bun neighbourhood. Over six months, the project enhanced community connections by integrating biophilic design, improving aesthetics, and fostering inclusive activities.
The handbook emphasises citizen engagement and the importance of green spaces. UrbanizeHub provides strategies and methods for embedding biophilic design into urban development, empowering NGOs, public bodies, and citizens with participatory approaches.
Drawing from UrbanizeHub’s experience, the handbook empowers communities and authorities to actively reshape urban spaces. It aids decision-makers, facilitating collaboration and advocating for sustainable practices like climate-adapted plants and recycled materials.
The vision is for vibrant urban areas that harmonise with nature, aiming to inspire similar projects across Europe and fostering pride in transformed landscapes.
The “Bring Nature Home” team includes Ioana Maria Ursache, Mihai Ionita, Luiza Cecilia Spiridon, and Samuel Stancu.
