DIVERSITEC 2025 – Innovation through Diversity

Description

DIVERSITEC is a national funding programme by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) that supports organisational development projects promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) in companies and research organisations.

The programme aims to strengthen innovation capacity by fostering inclusive workplace cultures and leveraging diverse perspectives within science- and technology-oriented organisations.

Funding Amount

  • Maximum funding per project: €50,000
  • Funding rate: 50–70% depending on company size
  • Funding type: De minimis aid

Submission Deadlines

  • Call opening: 1 July 2025
  • Submission deadline: 30 June 2026 (12:00)
  • Submission mode: Continuous (applications can be submitted at any time within the period)

Submission Conditions

  • Submission via FFG eCall system
  • Applications must include:
    • A prior analysis of the organisation’s DEI status
    • Clearly defined objectives and measures derived from this analysis
  • Evaluation based on:
    1. Quality of the project
    2. Suitability of the applicant
    3. Relevance of the project
  • Funding decisions are made on a rolling basis after submission

Eligible Types Applicants

  • Companies of any legal form (except civil law partnerships)
  • SMEs and large enterprises
  • Non-university research institutions

Additional conditions:

  • Must have R&D activities or focus on research/technology/innovation
  • Must require highly qualified personnel in research and technology

Eligible Countries

  • Organisations must have a registered office or branch in Austria
  • The programme is national in scope

Expected Outcome

  • Sustainable integration of diversity, equality, and inclusion in organisational structures
  • Improved innovation capacity through diverse teams
  • Enhanced employee satisfaction and retention
  • Stronger organisational culture and competitiveness

Projects must demonstrate lasting impact within the organisation rather than short-term actions.

Scope

The call funds measures for organisational development related to DEI, including:

  • Diversity management
  • HR development, onboarding and mentoring
  • New work and leadership approaches
  • Employer branding and communication
  • Diversity and inclusion training
  • Gender equality plans

Projects should consist of a combination of measures and be tailored to the organisation, with a focus on long-term structural integration of diversity practices.
