Green Mantis First Open Call

Description

The Green Mantis First Open Call is part of the EU-funded GreenMantis Eurocluster initiative, which supports manufacturing and energy SMEs in developing and adopting Net-Zero technologies. The call finances collaborative innovation projects that contribute to the green transition by improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and enabling technological adoption in industrial processes.

The programme provides both financial support and an innovation support package (including training and internationalisation activities) to help SMEs scale and implement solutions.

Funding Amount

  • Maximum funding per project: up to €100,000
  • Maximum funding per SME: €60,000
  • Total programme budget: approximately €1,000,000

Submission Deadlines

  • Opening date: 16 March 2026
  • Closing date (extended deadline): 17 June 2026 (17:00 CET / Brussels time)

Submission Conditions

  • Applications must be submitted by a consortium
  • Minimum 2 SMEs per consortium
  • SMEs must be from at least 2 different EU Member States or SMP-COSME associated countries
  • SMEs must belong to different sectors (manufacturing/energy/technology-related NACE sectors)
  • Projects must have a duration of 9 months
  • Projects must be at TRL 6–8 (lab-to-market stage)
  • Larger companies and universities may participate but are not funded
  • Only SMEs receive financial support

Eligible Types of Businesses

  • SMEs (primary eligible beneficiaries)
  • Manufacturing SMEs
  • Energy sector SMEs
  • Technology providers (SMEs in Net-Zero technologies)
  • Start-ups (if SME-qualified)

Non-funded participants (allowed in consortium):

  • Large companies
  • Universities / research organisations

Eligible Countries

  • EU Member States
  • Countries associated with the SMP-COSME programme

(Consortium must include at least two different eligible countries.)

Expected Outcome

Funded projects are expected to:

  • Develop new-to-firm products, services, or processes
  • Enable business process innovation linked to technology uptake
  • Improve energy efficiency in industrial operations
  • Support pilot validation and demonstration of Net-Zero technologies
  • Contribute to decarbonisation and SME competitiveness

Scope

Projects must focus on at least one of the following Net-Zero technology areas:

  • Electricity Grid Technologies
  • Energy System-related Energy Efficiency Technologies
  • Transformative Industrial Technologies for Decarbonisation

Eligible activities include:

  • Technology development and prototyping (TRL 6–8)
  • Pilot testing and validation in operational environments
  • Demonstration activities
  • Integration of Net-Zero technologies into manufacturing processes
  • Business process innovation linked to technology adoption
