This call targets enhancing research and innovation in bioeconomy, particularly in the BIOEAST countries, Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Balkans. The goal is to strengthen research capacities in areas like soil and water resilience, food systems security, and sustainable biomass valorisation. Proposals are expected to foster coordination and collaboration among stakeholders across regional, national, and European levels to align research and innovation agendas. The initiative will focus on creating a joint programming platform, facilitating synergies with existing bioeconomy projects, and addressing climate neutrality, biodiversity reduction, and the promotion of a sustainable circular bioeconomy. The ultimate aim is to improve regional cooperation, encourage the mobilization of research funds, and drive socio-economic development in the macro-region. Collaboration with the BIOEAST Initiative and thematic networks is key to achieving the desired outcomes.
