The 11th German-Korean Call for Proposals supports bilateral research and development (R&D) projects between SMEs from Germany and Korea. The initiative, jointly managed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), aims to foster the development of innovative products, processes, or technical services with strong commercial potential.
Eligible consortia must include at least one SME from each country, with balanced contributions from all partners. Participation from research institutions and additional companies is also welcome. Projects must demonstrate technological innovation beyond the current state of the art and a clear benefit from the international collaboration.
Funding is provided through national schemes: ZIM in Germany and KIAT in Korea. Each country’s participants apply separately under their own national rules, in addition to submitting a jointly signed international proposal. The project duration should not exceed three years.
