37th IraSME Call for Proposals: Luxembourg

Description

The 37th IraSME Call supports transnational research, technology development and innovation (RTDI) projects carried out jointly by SMEs (and optionally research organisations) from participating countries. Luxembourg participates in the IraSME network, a transnational funding initiative supporting international R&D cooperation projects between companies from multiple participating countries. The programme funds research, technology development and innovation projects aimed at developing new or significantly improved products, processes or technical services with clear market potential. Funding is delivered through national/regional programmes coordinated under a joint international call.

Funding Amount

  • Aid is provided as non-repayable subsidies covering a share of eligible project costs.
  • Maximum funding rates (for experimental development):
    • Small companies: 60%,
    • Medium-sized companies: 50%
    • Large companies: 40%

Submission Deadlines

  • Call open: 1 December 2025.
  • Final submission deadline: 25 March 2026.

Submission Conditions

Applicants must:

  • Submit the IraSME application form in English via email to the IraSME coordination office before the deadline.
  • Include a draft consortium agreement and required annexes.
  • Submit parallel national/regional funding applications to their respective agencies.
  • Ensure proposals are signed by all partners and meet national eligibility rules.

Eligible costs: personnel, working equipment, utilities, subcontracts.

Eligible Types of Businesses / Organisations

  • SMEs and large companies may apply for funding.
  • Luxembourg applicants must be private enterprises registered in Luxembourg.
  • Research organisations/universities may collaborate but are generally not funded nationally.

Eligible Countries (37th Call)

Participating countries/regions include:

  • Brazil
  • Germany
  • Czech Republic
  • Luxembourg
  • Türkiye
  • Belgium (Flanders and Wallonia)

Partners from non-participating countries may join but must self-finance their participation.

Expected Outcome

The call aims to:

  • Develop innovative, market-oriented technologies, products or services.
  • Strengthen SMEs’ technological capabilities through international cooperation.
  • Increase commercialization potential and competitiveness of participating companies.
  • Foster cross-border innovation collaboration and shared knowledge development.

Scope

Projects must:

  • Be transnational collaborative R&D projects involving partners from at least two participating countries/regions.
  • Focus on development beyond the current international state of the art, including technical/experimental development up to prototype level.
  • Address significant technical risk and demonstrate innovation and market potential.
  • Be technology-open (bottom-up approach across all sectors).
  • Luxembourg projects must additionally demonstrate co-financing capacity, economic impact and innovation potential.
