Description

This call supports degree thesis projects with relevance to the development of 6G. The funding is directed to the company or research organisation where the student’s degree work is carried out. The aim is to increase Swedish competence in the 6G area. The goal is to finance 100 degree theses by 2026, with an even distribution between women and men.

Funding Amount

• Maximum funding per project: up to SEK 100,000.
• The grant may cover up to 100% of eligible direct costs if a certificate of de minimis (minor support) is attached or if the research organisation is engaged in non-economic activities. Otherwise, up to 50% of eligible costs.

Submission Deadlines

• The call opens: 29 May 2024.
• The call is divided into several application periods. This means that if you submit your application before the last day of one of these application periods, you can have it assessed close to that date.
• The remaining application period deadlines:
  • 15 January 2026 at 14:00 CET;
  • 12 February 2026 at 14:00 CET;
  • 12 March 2026 at 14:00 CET;
  • 31 August 2026 at 14:00 CET.
• Applications may be submitted at any time up until the very last application date: 31 August 2026 at 14:00 CET.

Submission Conditions

• The applicant must be Swedish and the degree work must be carried out in Sweden.
• Applicant must be a company (public limited company) with more than three employees OR a research organisation that does not provide undergraduate education.
• The applicant must be the entity where the degree work is carried out.
• Organisations under liquidation, with unpaid debts or payment notices with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, or with the lowest credit rating (C) are not eligible if they are non-public.
• If applicant is engaged in economic activities and receives funds, they must adhere to state-aid rules: If applying under de minimis, must attach certificate per rules (max EUR 300,000 over 3 years) and the organisation must assess whether its activities are economic or non-economic.
• Costs eligible: personnel costs (salary, social security contributions etc) of supervision; other direct costs such as materials, supplies, travel necessary to carry out the project. The student’s salary is not eligible.

Eligible Types of Businesses

• Private companies (public limited companies) with more than three employees.
• Research organisations that do not conduct undergraduate education.
• Educational actors (universities/university colleges) are not eligible as applicants in this call (for degree supervision) because this call is located at companies/research orgs rather than the educational institution.
