The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) supports your research, implementation, and model projects for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The focus of the funding is on:
- Establishing technical foundations for civil society use of data, particularly for the development of community-oriented AI,
- Building competencies, improving organizational and cultural conditions, and strengthening the networking of organizations in the context of community-oriented AI,
- Adapting existing AI-based technologies to the needs of community-oriented organizations and making them available,
- Developing and testing new, community-oriented AI-based innovations to make them widely usable in the future.
Funding is provided for projects in the following 2 focus areas:
- Creating foundations for community-oriented “Artificial Intelligence”,
- Developing and testing community-oriented “Artificial Intelligence”.
You will receive the funding as a grant. The amount of the grant depends on the specific measure and amounts to:
- Up to 90 percent of the eligible expenses,
- Per application,
- A maximum of EUR 250,000 annually for applicants conducting measures within their own organization, with a maximum duration of 3 years, and
- A maximum of EUR 300,000 annually for applicants who also carry out measures through third parties and pass on grants, with a maximum duration of 3 years; the first-receiving organization may pass on a maximum of EUR 100,000 to a final-receiving organization.
BMFSFJ conducts expression of interest procedures. You submit your application in a two-stage process.
In the 1st stage, please submit your concept outline. In the 2nd stage, you will be invited to submit a formal funding application if your outline is positively evaluated.
