Brandenburgischer Innovationsgutschein (BIG) – Digital

The Brandenburgischer Innovationsgutschein (BIG) – Digital supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Brandenburg, including craft businesses, in implementing digital transformation projects. The program is administered by the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB) and funded by the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection of Brandenburg, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE).

The program aims to strengthen the innovation and competitiveness of Brandenburg-based SMEs by enabling them to adopt organizational and process innovations through digitalization. The eligible actions include consulting services to assess digitalization potential, implementation of digital technologies and organizational methods, and staff training directly related to the innovation project.

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant of up to 50% of eligible costs. The maximum funding amounts are:
- Up to 50.000 Euro for consulting projects (duration: max. 6 months)
- Up to 250.000 Euro for implementation projects (duration: max. 2 years)
- Up to 50.000 Euro for training projects (duration: up to 2 years if part of implementation)

Eligible costs include consulting fees, staff costs (gross salary + 15% for employer contributions), instruments and equipment used for the project, indirect costs (15% of staff costs), and external training services.

Applicants must first conduct a mandatory consultation with the Wirtschaftsförderung Land Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB). After submitting the application via the ILB online portal and receiving a digital confirmation, the project may begin at the applicant’s own risk. The final grant decision is made following a technical review by the WFBB and financial assessment by the ILB.

The program runs from 15 February 2024 and will end on 30 June 2027. Only projects that benefit the Brandenburg-based branch of the applying SME are eligible. Projects must not have started before the application and must involve a minimum of 5.000 Euro in eligible costs.
