This Horizon Europe call aims to advance the green and digital transition of various economic sectors by developing user-tailored applications and decision support systems. The initiative will integrate satellite-based Earth observation data, leveraging the Copernicus and Galileo services, with the goal of operationalizing solutions across multiple sectors such as sustainable agriculture, water resilience, biodiversity, and disaster resilience. The projects should focus on the development of solutions using advanced digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence, including generative AI. The expected outcomes include consolidating European Earth observation activities, promoting international collaboration, and supporting the European digital ecosystem. Projects must collaborate with local, regional, and national governments and develop business plans for post-project adoption. The overall objective is to scale up Earth observation solutions that contribute to EU policy-making and environmental sustainability. This action is expected to achieve a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7-8 by the end of the project. The call encourages the use of remote sensing platforms such as satellites, drones, and manned aviation, as well as support for clustering and cooperation with other projects.
Expected Outcome
• Accelerate the green and digital transition of economic sectors
• Integrate and consolidate European and national GEO activities
• Contribute to the EuroGEO initiative and support environmental observations for EU policy-making
• Develop and operationalize Earth observation solutions with clear pathways to market uptake
• Promote pan-European synergies within the Earth observation community
Scope
• Accelerate the green and digital transition of economic sectors through the development of end-user applications and decision support systems
• Integrate European and national Earth observation activities to support the GEO work programme
