This Horizon Europe call focuses on the development of a joint AU-EU Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) to support food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture, and resilience in agrifood systems. The initiative is aligned with the European Green Deal priorities, the farm-to-fork strategy, and the FNSSA roadmap, fostering innovative tools and approaches for agroecological transitions. Eligible consortia must apply the multi-actor approach, including at least three independent entities from Africa, with two from the same geographical region as defined by the African Union. Key objectives include enhancing science-policy interfaces, fostering collaborations among research and innovation actors, and implementing co-creation methodologies to strengthen AKIS relationships at local, national, and regional levels. Proposals are expected to contribute to climate change adaptation, biodiversity strategies, and policy dialogues, with actionable recommendations for joint AKIS development in the AU-EU context.
