Diversity Cheque 2024-2026

Description

The Diversity Scheck is a national FFG funding instrument designed to support small-scale, entry-level actions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in SMEs. It aims to enable companies to take first practical steps towards a more inclusive organisational culture, thereby strengthening innovation capacity through diversity.

Funding Amount

  • Maximum funding per project: €10,000
  • Funding rate: 80% of eligible costs (max. €12,500 total project cost)
  • Funding type: De minimis grant

Submission Deadlines

  • Opening date: 6 November 2024
  • Deadline: 29 May 2026 (or until funds are exhausted)
  • Submission mode: Continuous (rolling submission)

Submission Conditions

  • Submission via FFG eCall system
  • Applications are evaluated on an ongoing basis after submission
  • Project requirements:
    • Must involve an external expert with DEI expertise
    • Only third-party costs are eligible
  • Funding is awarded until the budget is exhausted

Eligible Types of Businesses / Organisations

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of any legal form
  • Must:
    • Have R&D-related activities or needs
    • Operate in science, technology, or innovation fields

Eligible Countries

  • Organisations must have a registered office or branch in Austria

Expected Outcome

  • Initial structural improvements in diversity and inclusion
  • Increased awareness and competence in DEI topics
  • Enhanced ability to attract diverse talent
  • Strengthened innovation potential through inclusive practices

The programme focuses on quick, tangible changes as a first step toward longer-term organisational transformation.

Scope

The call funds individual, small-scale measures that can quickly improve diversity within organisations, including:

  • Diversity analysis (organisational culture assessment)
  • Building diversity competence (training, coaching)
  • Recruiting & HR measures for diverse teams
  • Mentoring programmes for underrepresented groups
  • Gender equality plans
  • Open category (tailored diversity initiatives)

Only third-party services (external DEI experts) are eligible costs.
