Description

This call, under the AI Factories framework, aims to support AI-driven scientific research and collaborative EU-funded projects. It offers access to EuroHPC supercomputers for ethical AI, machine learning, foundation models, and generative AI applied to science. It is open to scientific users (academia, research institutes, public sector) and industrial users involved in EU-funded R&I projects.

EuroHPC Systems

The supercomputer systems and their operations provided for the AI for Science and Collaborative EU Projects Access call by EuroHPC JU Hosting Entities are:

Scope

• Prioritises scientific/computational applications of AI on HPC platforms, including foundation models and generative AI.

• Accessible for collaborative projects funded by Horizon Europe or Digital Europe Programme.

• Aimed at large-scale scientific computing tasks requiring HPC resources.

• Uses existing EuroHPC supercomputers capable of AI workloads pending deployment of new AI Factories.

Funding Amount

• In-kind support only — access time on EuroHPC supercomputers.

• Resources: Up to 25% of EuroHPC’s share on AI-capable partitions.

• Specific allocation sizes aligned with Regular Access minimums; typically large, often exceeding 50 000 GPU‑hours.

Submission Deadlines

• A continuously open call with bi-monthly cut-offs (six per year).

• Deadline dates: 20 Jun 2025, 10:00 / 8 Aug 2025, 10:00 / 10 Oct 2025, 10:00 / 12 Dec 2025, 10:00 (CET)

• Projects can request extensions of up to 3 months (+10%) after interim report approval.

• Response time: Maximum 30 days post cut-off.

Eligible Business Types

• Academic & scientific institutions, public bodies.

• Industry participants (companies) only if part of EU-funded R&I projects.

• All applicants must be established in eligible EU or associated countries.
