Description

The Fast Lane Access Mode is part of the EuroHPC JU AI Factories Industrial Innovation Access Calls. It provides rapid and simplified access to AI-optimised HPC resources for HPC-ready users conducting AI projects. The access is intended for innovative projects—particularly involving foundation or generative AI models (e.g., LLMs)—that require medium-sized allocations of up to 50,000 GPU hours for up to 3 months.

Scope

• The Fast Lane mode targets industrial AI applications requiring medium-sized GPU allocations.

• Projects should have clear industrial relevance and demonstrate technical feasibility for execution on EuroHPC AI Factory systems.

• Supports ethical AI, machine learning, and particularly foundation/generative models.

This call supports the strategic goal of establishing AI Factories across Europe to bolster the development and uptake of trustworthy AI technologies within the EU.

AI Factories Systems

The supercomputer systems and their services provided for the Fast Lane Access call by EuroHPC Hosting Entities are:

Funding Amount

• No direct monetary funding is awarded.

• Instead, successful applicants receive in-kind HPC access:

  • Up to 50,000 GPU hours per project.

  • Duration: 1, 2, or 3 months, depending on project needs.

• Access is free of charge for eligible SMEs and startups.

• Commercial companies may be subject to a pay-per-use model, based on each AI Factory's policies.

• Allocations are limited to a single system

Submission Details

• Continuously open call.

• No cut-off dates; proposals are assessed on a rolling basis.

• Allocations are granted first-come, first-served based on successful evaluation.

Eligible Applicants

Applicants must:

• Be affiliated with an industry organization:

  • SME

  • Startup

  • Commercial company

• Have a Principal Investigator (PI) employed by the organization, with a contract valid during the project and 3 months beyond.

• Provide a validated PIC number (or register via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal).

• Be committed to civilian-use AI applications only.

• Comply with the EU AI Act (2024/1689).
