This call invites research proposals to explore the transformation of governmental operations and the preparation of civil services for future challenges. In an era marked by complex crises, diminishing public trust, and rapid societal changes, traditional governance models are increasingly inadequate. Governments must adopt coordinated, agile, and proactive strategies, engaging stakeholders and fostering innovation within public administrations. The research should focus on:
- New Governance Paradigms: Investigating reforms and innovative approaches in governance, including agile leadership, strategic decision-making, open government practices, and public employment management.
- Innovative Public Policy Development: Exploring multidisciplinary methods to address complex issues, such as systems thinking, stakeholder engagement, and experimental policymaking.
- From Crisis Management to Anticipatory Governance: Examining how governments utilize foresight and build capacities to anticipate and shape future challenges, embedding long-term perspectives into strategic planning.
The project aims to provide enhanced knowledge for informed public decision-making, develop policy recommendations, create comprehensive e-learning programs for officials, and foster collaboration among EU Member States to leverage innovative governance practices.
