This call aims to develop and pilot prototypes of a generative AI-powered digital spine that enhances the digitalization and decarbonization of the EU energy system. Projects should focus on developing AI-powered tools for electricity system operators, energy service providers, households, and energy communities. The scope includes developing and testing generative AI for local system optimization, identifying sources of flexibility, integrating data sources, and exploring AI for system optimization through scenario generation and forecasting.
Projects are expected to demonstrate AI-powered energy services and tools across at least three EU Member States and Associated Countries, involving traditional energy stakeholders and new entrants such as energy service companies, aggregators, and energy communities. Selected projects are expected to contribute to the BRIDGE initiative and actively participate in its activities. The initiative aims to leverage existing digital solutions and adhere to relevant standards, integrating or replacing parts of existing legacy systems.
Opening Date: 16 September 2025
Deadline: 17 February 2026
