Land Collaborative Combat Including Air-Land

Given the evolution of threats on the battlefield, including high-intensity multi-domain warfare, technological dissemination, and the multiplication of unmanned aircraft systems, collaborative warfare aims to gain and maintain superiority over the enemy through combat systems and networking. This funding call focuses on bringing existing collaborative functions to a higher level of maturity (TRL 6-8 > 7) and improving operational performance. Additionally, it seeks to develop new collaborative capabilities through studies, prototyping, and demonstrations in an operational environment at TRL 7.

The targeted capabilities include collaborative force protection, threat evaluation, weapon assignment, and engagement across multi-domain warfare. Furthermore, the call emphasizes enhancing connectivity among platforms from different nations through adaptive hybrid communication systems, AI-supported mission planning, and cybersecurity functions. The project also aims to improve battlefield transparency and situational awareness using AI, cloud-native architectures, and emerging digital technologies.

The proposals must address the development and demonstration of innovative multinational collaborative land combat functional capabilities that enhance military land systems currently in use or under development. The solutions should support operations from the dismounted soldier level to command posts, ensuring secure and robust information sharing. The proposals should cover joint military functions such as C2, intelligence, maneuver, fires, and sustainment.

Eligible activities include system prototyping, testing, qualification, certification, and efficiency-improving technology development across the lifecycle of defense products. The funded projects must also integrate interoperability requirements, AI-driven decision support systems, and secure cloud-based virtual platforms.

Expected impacts include the creation of a secure, agile, data-centric combat framework for multinational forces, the enhancement of EU strategic autonomy in defense technology, and the development of a highly innovative and modular collaborative combat system that meets emerging capability needs.
