Large Scale Access to AI factories

Description

The Large Scale Access mode is part of the AI Factories Industrial Innovation track. It is tailored for experienced industrial AI users with projects requiring more than 50,000 GPU hours. The aim is to support development and training of large-scale AI models and applications on AI-optimised HPC infrastructure. Access is free for eligible AI SMEs and startups; other industrial users can access under commercial pay-per-use terms.

This access call is intended:

  • For Industry users
  • For More than 50,000 GPU hours
  • To provide Approval within 10 working days

Large Scale Access call is intended for applications performing AI activities with high-impact, high-gain innovative research, justifying the need for and the capacity to use large allocations in terms of compute time, data storage and support services. The allocations are granted for a period of three, six, or twelve months, depending on the duration needs.

The supercomputer systems and their services provided for the Fast Lane Access call by EuroHPC Hosting Entities are:

Submission Deadlines

  • A continuously open call with two cut-off dates per month for evaluations.

    • Deadline dates: 30 Jun 2025, 10:00 / 15 Jul 2025, 10:00 / 31 Jul 2025, 10:00 / 14 Aug 2025, 10:00 / 1 Sep 2025, 10:00 / 15 Sep 2025, 10:00 / 30 Sep 2025, 10:00 / 15 Oct 2025, 10:00 / 31 Oct 2025, 10:00 / 14 Nov 2025, 10:00 / 1 Dec 2025, 10:00 / 15 Dec 2025, 10:00 / 5 Jan 2026, 10:00 (CET)
  • Applicants may receive responses within weeks after each cut-off.

  • Rolling allocations continue until resource exhaustion.

Eligible Types of Businesses

  • Open to industrial users—especially SMEs and startups (free of charge).

  • Other companies may participate under pay-per-use policies.

  • Scientific users and public stakeholders are not the primary target (they use other access modes).

Expected Outcome

  • Completion and scale-up of industrial AI projects with tangible impact.

  • Strengthened adoption of AI technologies across EU industries.

  • Participants retain full ownership of derived models and data.

  • Final reporting required, including resource utilization and results.

  • Enables large-scale AI workloads demanding 50,000+ GPU hours.

  • Focus on industrial innovation, including foundation models, generative AI, and high-impact applications.

  • Provides both compute capacity and expert support from AI Factories.
