National Contact Points (NCPs) for Security and Cybersecurity

The funding call under Horizon Europe aims to enhance and professionalize the National Contact Points (NCPs) for security and cybersecurity across Europe. The main objective is to improve the accessibility of Horizon Europe calls, lower entry barriers for newcomers, and increase the overall quality of proposals. This initiative seeks to harmonize and foster transnational cooperation among NCPs while aligning national and EU-level initiatives to address common security challenges.

Proposals should strengthen links between NCPs and national communities for research and innovation, aiming to identify capability gaps and address them with suitable research and innovation solutions. Activities will include sharing best practices, conducting matchmaking events, and promoting the uptake of successful innovations.

A critical outcome is the development of a sustainable cooperation model for national research and innovation communities to function beyond the project’s lifecycle. The successful proposal is expected to ensure better integration of local and regional insights into the European context, increase visibility of national-level security needs and innovations, and promote EU funding opportunities in civil security.
