The NBeteiligung program by NBank provides equity capital to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in Lower Saxony, Germany. The primary goal of the program is to strengthen growth potential and employment through strategic investments, support management buy-outs (MBO), buy-ins (MBI), and business succession solutions.

The program is open to all sectors and offers both silent and open participations. Silent participations typically involve no management involvement by NBank, with fixed conditions and market-based remuneration. Open participations are minority holdings with a planned exit after 7 to 10 years.

Eligible projects include investments required due to growth (in fixed or current assets) and business successions. Companies in financial distress, or those excluded under Article 7 of the EU Regulation 2021/1058, as well as specific legal forms such as UG, Limited, sole proprietorships, and GbR, are not eligible.

Applicants must be SMEs from the commercial sector with a registered office or branch in Lower Saxony. The funding volume ranges from 250,000 € to 600,000 € for young companies (under 5 years on the market) and up to 2.5 million € with a private co-investor.

To apply, companies are required to submit a project description, financial documents (e.g., BWA, annual reports), qualifications of key personnel, and a solid business plan that demonstrates project feasibility and market potential.
