NSeed is an equity-based funding programme provided by NBank Capital to support young, innovative companies in overcoming capital shortages and leveraging growth opportunities during their early business development. The initiative primarily targets small, newly established companies (usually under 5 years old) located in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Through NSeed, companies can receive silent or open equity investments, designed to strengthen their capital base and provide liquidity for growth. The program does not focus on specific industries, enabling a broad spectrum of innovative and technological ideas to qualify. Funding is particularly directed at companies in the seed phase and during the initial growth phase.

The investment volume ranges from 150.000 Euro to 600.000 Euro for seed and early-phase funding. In cases where private co-investors are involved, the funding volume can be increased to up to 2.500.000 Euro. Investment durations range from 7 to 10 years, and up to 12 years in exceptional cases.

Open equity investments involve NBank Capital acquiring a minority share in the company. In contrast, silent partnerships offer funding without influencing management decisions, with fixed conditions agreed upon for the entire investment period.

The program does not support companies in financial difficulty, those legally excluded from EFRE funding, or those structured as UG, Limited, sole proprietorships, or GbRs at the time of contract conclusion.

Application is conducted through the NBank customer portal. Prior to applying, companies must submit a detailed project description, current financial documents, qualifications of key individuals, and a sound business plan that proves feasibility and market potential. The program requires a thorough review process and consultation with NBank Capital to assess the eligibility and structure of the investment case.

By providing tailored equity capital instruments, NSeed helps high-potential start-ups in Lower Saxony to scale effectively, create jobs, and contribute to regional innovation and economic development.
