Description

The Playground Access Mode under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) AI Factories Access Calls is designed for entry-level industrial users or those new to high-performance computing (HPC). It offers lightweight, short-term access to EuroHPC’s AI-optimised supercomputers to test, develop, and refine AI applications.

This access call is intended:

• For Industry users
• For New or entry level users
• To provide Access within 2 working days

Playground provides quick access to European SMEs and startups. This access mode is ideal for new users or those with smaller computational needs.  Guidance is provided by the hosting AI Factory (AIF).

Users can apply any time. Allocations are granted for a period of 1, 2, or 3 months. Resources can be requested on a single system only.

AI Factories Systems

The supercomputer systems and their services provided for the Playground Access call by EuroHPC Hosting Entities are:

Funding Amount

• No monetary funding is provided

• Support is in-kind via access to HPC systems

• Allocation:

  • Small, fixed amounts of GPU hours per project (exact numbers are predefined per system and must be respected)

  • Duration of access: 1, 2, or 3 months

  • Resources are granted on a single system only

• Total resource capacity for Playground Access is not publicly specified and depends on availability

Submission Deadlines

• Rolling call – open continuously with no cut-off dates

• Proposals are evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis

• Resources are allocated until fully consumed

Eligible Types of Businesses

Eligible applicants must be from industry, specifically:

• SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises)

• Startups

• Commercial companies

Principal Investigator (PI) requirements:

• Must be employed by the applicant organization

• Must have a valid employment contract for the duration of the project plus 3 additional months
