Support to the EDF National Focal Points (NFP) network

The National Focal Points for the EDF (EDF-NFPs) consist of a network of individuals nominated by EU Member States and EDF Associated Countries. These individuals are supported by national structures under the responsibility and control of the respective states. EDF-NFPs play a crucial role in the implementation of the EDF by offering practical information, advice, training, and assistance to stakeholders regarding participation in the programme.

This action aims to facilitate transnational cooperation between EDF-NFPs to identify and share best practices and raise the general standard of support available to potential programme applicants. This effort is intended to account for the diversity of actors that could benefit from the programme, ultimately contributing to strengthening the European Defence Technological and Industrial Base (EDTIB).

Proposals must include coordination and support activities designed to improve the competence of EDF NFPs through rapid knowledge acquisition from other EU Member States and EDF Associated Countries. The key tasks include joint trainings, twinning arrangements, information development, matchmaking events, and the creation of a dedicated website to facilitate partner searches and EDF-related knowledge dissemination.

Expected impacts include improved EDF-NFP network functioning, enhanced competitiveness of the EU defence industry, increased cross-border collaboration, continuous service improvements by EDF-NFPs, and stronger ties between EDF-NFPs, Enterprise Europe Network, and other relevant industry and research networks.
