This call aims to support European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIPs), SET Plan Implementation Working Groups (IWGs), and similar stakeholder fora in various sectors to align and coordinate their activities, contributing to the implementation of the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) and its harmonization with the European Green Deal, REPowerEU, and the Green Deal Industrial Plan. Projects are expected to develop research and innovation roadmaps, strategic reports, industrial strategies, analyses of market opportunities, studies on innovation barriers, and assessments of their sectors' contribution to European competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
Proposals should address one of the following sectors: geothermal energy, hydropower, ocean energy, photovoltaics, renewable fuels and bioenergy, solar thermal energy, renewable heating and cooling, direct solar fuels, wind energy, energy efficiency in buildings, sustainable and efficient energy use in industry, direct current technologies, carbon capture storage and use, hydrogen, and energy systems. The initiative emphasizes the participation of companies, research and civil society organizations, universities, and European associations, establishing links with national authorities.
Special attention should be given to key challenges such as energy security, technological pushback, industrial production, supply chain security, dependencies, circularity, advanced materials, digitalization, societal transformation, skills, and just transition. Proposals are expected to include robust outreach approaches, societal engagement actions, and develop a dissemination and exploitation strategy. The indicative project duration is two years.
