This Horizon Europe call seeks to establish a European research hub dedicated to contemporary antisemitism and Jewish life and culture. The initiative aims to address the resurgence of antisemitism in Europe and beyond by creating a dynamic network of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. This research hub will foster high-quality empirical work, standardize methodologies, and fill research gaps, especially in underrepresented regions. It also aims to provide strategic planning and ensure the sustainability of this research network in the long term.
The hub will include training programs for early-career researchers and promote knowledge transfer to policymakers. It is expected to contribute to the European Union’s comprehensive strategy against antisemitism and for fostering Jewish life (2021-2030). Practical deliverables include a governance structure with an executive board and a professional secretariat, a strong online presence, and annual conferences to foster collaboration across Europe. Long-term goals include creating academic positions, offering research grants, and establishing prizes to highlight excellence in the field.
International cooperation is encouraged, and applicants are advised to utilize data from European research infrastructures. The initiative aspires to transform this hub into a sustainable research infrastructure, leveraging regional, national, and European funding, and acting as a bridge between academia and policy to nurture an open and inclusive society in Europe.
