Understanding perceptions and improving communication on biodiversity crisis and nature restoration benefits

This Horizon Europe call invites projects that explore societal perceptions of the biodiversity crisis and its connection to climate change, aiming to develop strategies for improving communication, increasing awareness, and empowering citizen engagement. Proposals must address the plurality of societal views, identify underlying conflicts, and explore solutions that enhance democratic governance. Projects are expected to pilot citizen engagement initiatives, develop tailored communication strategies, and assess their effectiveness through case studies.

Strong multidisciplinary approaches and contributions from social sciences and humanities are required, alongside collaborations with public authorities. Proposals should also build on experiences from past EU projects and align with the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and the Kunming-Montréal Global Biodiversity Framework.
