The scope of the call includes exploring and developing AI and digital technologies to optimize bio-based operations, promote sustainable feedstocks, improve industrial processes, and enhance understanding of bio-based systems. Proposals should integrate systemic approaches, demonstrate scalability, and align with EU-level initiatives like the EU AI Act and the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Initiative.
Targeted outcomes include enhanced competitiveness and strategic autonomy of the bio-based industry, advancements in circularity and biodegradability, and better assessment of risks and opportunities through inclusive methodologies. Stakeholder engagement, citizen dialogue, and social innovation are encouraged.
