– Exeger and E Ink are in an exclusive partnership creating reference designs for eNotes and other electronic ink products to extend their battery life and help reduce their overall carbon footprint
– The first prototype, an eNote, will feature a cover that provides the device with the ability to charge using all forms of light (both indoor and outdoor)
– The light-powered eNote cover will be presented at Touch Taiwan, taking place between April 19-21, 2023
APRIL 13, 2023 – STOCKHOLM & TAIWAN – Swedish deep tech company Exeger (http://www.exeger.com) and global display manufacturer E Ink (http://www.eink.com), today announces their exclusive partnership to develop a range of light-harvesting reference designs for eNotes and other electronic ink products.
The objective for the companies is to set a new standard in the ePaper industry with light-powered displays which prolong battery life and reduce carbon footprint.
E Ink and Exeger’s reference designs will feature Exeger’s patented Powerfoyle™ solar cell technology. Powerfoyle is the world’s only fully customizable solar cell, which converts all forms of light, both natural outdoor light and ambient indoor light, into clean, endless energy.
The first prototype is an eNote cover: a slim, durable accessory with a Powerfoyle solar cell seamlessly integrated, which will significantly extend the eNote’s battery life when exposed to light and bring ultimate convenience for the end-user.
Exeger and E Ink will showcase the reference design at Touch Taiwan on April 19-21, 2023. To see the prototype display in person, visit E Ink’s booth #M901.
Exeger’ s cutting-edge light harvesting solar cell technology is made from environmentally friendly and abundantly available materials. Thanks to Exeger’s unique printing technique, the solar cell can be made in almost any shape or form. Powerfoyle can also be produced with different patterns and textures, allowing brands to incorporate the technology while retaining the design DNA of their products.
There is a bright future for the two technologies combined. E Ink and Exeger share the common goal to make the world a more sustainable place.
“Introducing clean, endless energy directly integrated into products has the potential to completely revolutionize the market and open up opportunities for new applications, expanding the reach of ePaper products.”
