3rd Generation of CMS integration for new developments (electrical train)

Result description

The solutions for the monitoring of the diagnosis developments on the electrical drive train have been developed on:

– 1 Generator failure modes.

– 2 Converter failure modes.

– 3 Transformer failure modes.

In this context, this result consists of diagnostic solutions for Electrical Drive Trains which mean cost reduction by taking decisions faster, more secure, more precise and with greater time anticipation. The main benefit of this result is that it allows the development of monitoring techniques for new designs, deployments, or configurations that will improve detectability, troubleshooting and anticipation time. This will earn time and money for our customers as a result of better scheduling on the maintenance activities.

Current stage description

This result achieved a TRL-7 in the project. Each of the diagnosis & prognosis solutions has been tentatively studied and implemented in Wind farm. More operative experience is required in order to determine the specific degree of maturity of the different modules although some of them can be considered TRL-7 Next steps: cost reductions in general are a big challenge to overcome in order to provide better diagnosis into new turbines.

Replicability

Methodology SW and results obtained can be applied also to other turbine designs providing outcomes. 

Sustainability

Project outcomes are not considered as an standalone business as itself but a contribution to SGRE business lines.
